This album is lovingly dedicated to my mother, Terry MacDonald, whom I lost to cancer in September of 1997. I returned home to Nova Scotia to take care of her during her final months, bringing with me, my newborn baby daughter, Holly. ( Mom's first granddaughter) Though it was sad saying goodby as she made her transition, it truly was a wonderful time spent together…such great talks and closeness we shared. She promised that after she moved on, she would send me a sign. I held on to that thought, and I waited and waited. Two years later a beautiful angel baby named Ashby was born on my mother's birthday.

Ashby is a miracle, as she was manifested in my body at a time when I was diagnosed with a rare cancerous tumor in my hipbone. I had completely given up hope on her survival, because of all of the surgery and drugs she endured, coupled with the fact that I had lost three earlier pregnancies. Ashby turned one year old today, and is an incredible vibrant, source of light and love.

As for me, two hip replacements later, I have never felt so blessed in my life. I've grown a lot since my Mom's passing. I've learned there's no need to be afraid, and that inner peace comes with trust. My life is filled with gratitude every day now, and these songs come from that time and space. They are who I am.
